Test & tag

Test and tag software built around AS/NZS 3760.

Maintenance Partners is test and tag software for Australian electrical appliance testing businesses: a record for every appliance, retest intervals scheduled to AS/NZS 3760, high-volume testing on an offline-first field app, and registers your clients can pull themselves. The standard sets the interval; the software makes sure nothing slips past it.

The machine

How it runs an appliance testing business

A record per appliance

Every appliance carries its own history — ID, site, location, class, last test, result, who tested it. When a client, auditor or insurer asks what was tested and when, the answer is a report, not an afternoon of reconstruction.

Retest intervals that enforce themselves

AS/NZS 3760 sets the interval by environment — three-monthly on construction and demolition sites, through to five-yearly in low-risk settings. Set the interval on the asset and the retest job generates itself when it falls due. A missed retest is a liability; the schedule does not drift.

Built for volume in the field

Test and tag lives or dies on throughput — hundreds of appliances a day, often in buildings with no coverage. The offline-first iOS and Android app keeps the technician moving: scan an appliance's barcode or QR tag to jump straight to its record — test, record, next — and scan a tag the register doesn't know yet to create the appliance on the spot. Everything syncs when the signal returns.

From failed test to invoice

A failed appliance becomes a defect, a repair or replacement quote, and an invoice — one thread, no re-keying, wired into Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks. The paying work that comes out of testing stops leaking.

Why this machine

Interval-driven testing is what this platform is

Recurring inspections against a published standard, evidence captured at the asset, registers a third party can trust — that is the entire shape of Maintenance Partners. It was forged under AS 1851 in fire protection, where a missed cycle shows up in an audit, and AS/NZS 3760 testing runs on exactly the same discipline. Many businesses run test and tag alongside their fire or electrical work in the same licence. The price is published: $150 per user per month ex GST, every module included.

No contest

What the generic tools cannot say

Generic job-management software treats test and tag as a diary reminder. Maintenance Partners was engineered for regulated recurring inspection, and the differences are structural — none of them can be bolted onto a booking tool.

The schedule is computed, not typed in

There is no "repeat every 6 months" job to set up and babysit. Each appliance carries its own retest programme, due dates are computed from the register, and completing a test re-anchors the clock because the work was done. You maintain the appliance register — the schedule follows.

It can prove you were late

A completion-anchored schedule — what everyone else ships — moves the next due date when the work is done, so it is structurally incapable of showing a breach. Maintenance Partners also measures every appliance against the fixed grid the standard implies, separating tests done late from tests never done. That is a register you can hand to an auditor.

Offline is a replica, not a cache

"Works offline" usually means a form that holds its submission until the bars come back. The field app carries a full replica of the technician's work — the entitled register, its histories and its checklists, in their pocket — and a technician can be a fortnight out of coverage without losing a thing. A basement with no signal is a normal working day.

Questions

Test and tag questions, answered.

Does the software track retest intervals under AS/NZS 3760?

Yes. Every appliance carries its own record — ID, location, class, last test, result — and its next test is scheduled at the interval you set for its environment, from three-monthly on construction and demolition sites through to five-yearly in low-risk environments. When the retest falls due, the job generates itself; nothing depends on someone re-reading a spreadsheet.

Can clients see their own test and tag registers?

Yes — the client portal is part of the licence, not an add-on. Your clients pull their own appliance registers, test histories and reports whenever an auditor, insurer or safety manager asks, instead of ringing your office for a PDF.

How much does test and tag software cost?

Maintenance Partners is $150 per user per month ex GST ($165 inc GST) with every module included — field app, office portal, asset registers, scheduling, quoting, invoicing, client portal and integrations. No tiers, no add-ons, and volume discounts for larger teams are shown before you pay anything.
